Girl About the dales
Make sure every update lands in your inbox. Never miss a new post
Hi there, I’m Amy!
I am a 34 year old ex prison nurse. I currently manage our holiday rental cottage and do some bank nursing. I live with my husband in Horsforth, Leeds but due to his mid life crisis, we are selling up and moving to a little village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. We have spent much of our time here over the last 4 years discovering where our hearts truly lie. The beauty of the place is hard not to fall in love with, the freedom of the fresh air when walking, the raw and rugged landscapes, the warmth of the people and of course the Swaledale lamb.
The important things in my life include: my Dad, my friends, my family, my life experiences, holidays and trips, curry, NZ Sauv blanc (of course, which 30 something, female bloggers don’t like a drop of Doris Juice), my mental health closely followed by handbags. Many of my friends tell me that this last point is about as deep as a puddle, but on this occasion, I don’t care. I like handbags. And a good handbag can last a life time, just like them.
I haven’t put pen to paper since university in 2004 and I have never written a blog or a published review before. I am feeling excited and eager about this new venture, almost as much as I am looking forwards to my next meal. I’m writing this at a health and fitness retreat in Devon. That doesn’t allow gin or Doris juice. However, I can’t wait to share with you some of my views, insights and experiences.
Toodle pip for now!
